Introduction
The Cone Top Brewery Museum’s founder, Chris Moore, began collecting beer cans he found tossed on the side of the road while exploring rural Michigan as a teenager in the 1970s. The discovery of that first Drewry’s can sparked a lifelong passion for brewery history and has grown into one of the nation’s most significant breweriana collections.
Chris’s early fascination with brewery artifacts led to an interest in brewing itself. After a stint working at the famed Widmer Brewing Company in Portland, OR and many homebrewing experiments, Chris created the highly regarded Old Stove Brewing Company, which now has three locations in Seattle, WA. The award-winning Old Stove Brewing Co. is dedicated to producing high quality, flavorful beers and honoring traditional brewing methods.
The Legacy
In 2018, Chris decided to share his remarkable breweriana collection with the public by establishing the Cone Top Brewery Museum. The museum’s mission extends beyond simply displaying artifacts—it aims to create dynamic, experiential exhibits that depict the crucial role breweries played in shaping American history and culture.
The museum offers collectors the rare opportunity to have their carefully curated collections maintained, studied and appreciated in the years to come.
As we work toward establishing our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status, the museum is committed to preserving and presenting these important artifacts for future generations.
Behind the Museum
Cone Top Brewery Museum + NABA
The Cone Top Brewery Museum proudly partners with the National Association Breweriana Advertising (NABA)—the nation’s premier organization for breweriana collectors and brewery historians. Through this partnership, Cone Top participates in national conventions and shares resources to connect with collectors across the country.
Cone Top’s travelling exhibits have become highlights of the annual NABA Conventions – providing immersive experiences that bring brewery history to life.
NABA members receive special benefits at the museum, including free admission, exclusive event invitations and access to our research archives. Both Cone Top and NABA view the museum as a welcoming, bricks and mortar gateway for exploring breweriana. In this respect, we mutually consider The Cone Top Brewery Museum to be NABA’s “Front Door.”
